Tons of incredible people came ranging from family to friends to random folks we didn't even know. There was lots of yummy food, crazy dancing, meditation (don't ask), and fun times!
I did a photoshoot with darbs after she let me give her bangs!!
Darby and her roommie, Brynn, stayed at my slc house for a few days as we had a fabulous General Conference weekend and even got to attend the Saturday pm session. It was incredible!! If you missed it, i encourage you to look it up on lds.org. Talk about inspired words that will change your life.
It clearly served as a fun girl's weekend as well! My dear mother played the incredible and sweet hostess. I got to go walking Twice with her! She is such a wonderful woman.
Well that basically sums up my life as of late... minus the part that school has completely taken me over. I even got a locker on campus... watch out byu i'm movin in! haha. I absolutely love it. I am exactly where i am suppose to be, doing what i am suppose to be doing, and nothing could be better. I study like its my job and t.a. and take tests and do assignments and go to classes and read textbooks all my days long- the only daylight i see is when i'm walking from one building to the next. I met with my cousin/adviser Landon (who is freaking incredible) and we did a grad plan. If all goes well- i will graduate a year from this Spring and then head off to grad school. Right now, education is everything to me. It is my life, my passion, and what consumes my time and energy. That is how it should be and i'll gladly devote myself to such good a cause! Studying Psychology, Dance, and family life is so rewarding to me. It has been hard, though, to not focus on friends and a social life as much. But the girls i have dance class with are my bff's, and the midget that i eat lunch with in the cougareat is my lover, and i just have to trust that everyone else will support me in this endeavor. I know, for a fact, that my mom does- and what a HUGE strength that has been. I had some drama last week, and she was an emotional crutch while i needed it for those few days. I have incredible roommates and wonderful friends that i get to text every once in a while. Am i blessed or what. Yesterday I even cleaned and rearranged my room while doing a load of laundry. See, i knew i'd get the hang of it.
P.s. i had to rearrange my room in result of horrid sleeping at nights (see post titled Sleeping and Laughter for details). Point of the story- with my bed against the wall i was constantly waking up with bruises and scratches. I LOVE the new layout, tho!
Additional good news!
My brother/cousin, Nik will be wed to his beautiful Amber this weekend! I am a bridesmaid and can't wait to celebrate with them!!!!! Like really- i'm so stoked! I also get to write a little ditty to say at the dinner.... that will be great- i'll make sure to post it here.
I took my first test of the year and got a B! Considering the university i go to, and that it was my first test of the year/ class- that is fantastic!
Well time to grab food and head to class.
